POSITION SUMMARY:
The Injection Molding Associate is a training role for learning tooling equipment of injection molding machines to safely deliver the highest quality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible using effective manufacturing methods. Injection Molding Associate personnel report to the Injection Molding Technician.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•    Assists in production start-ups to run according to product specifications and as scheduled by management in a timely manner.
•    Trains with Injection Molding Technicians to learn to perform all normal running adjustments to the equipment as required to produce the product to specification.
•    Helps to carry out repair and changes to existing tooling, introduction to new tooling, machinery, equipment and processing technologies.  
•    Learns to monitor key parameters of the IMM process to make recommendations to ensure optimum manufacturability, efficiency and cost savings.
•    Training for routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting in case of failure and make repairs as directed, advise management of major problems, and aide the maintenance personnel as required for repair.
•    Ensure that quality standards are upheld and that any suspect or defective product is reported to the Shift Leader to be appropriately destroyed or placed on hold for Quality review. 
•    Communicates in a positive and respectful manner to resolve all issues.
•    Training on how to record changes and accurately complete all documentation.
•    Reduce production waste during molding process by reducing scrap and cycle times.
•    Insure that molds are cleaned per our requirements and carry out tooling PM schedules.
•    Gains in-depth knowledge of production processes and how to optimize process to achieve optimal cycle time to make a quality part without damaging the mold and equipment.
•    Aides Injection Molding Technicians in carrying out tool and resin trials and tooling qualifications.
•    Learns process for reporting tooling issues to the management team and what recommendations can be made for repair and modification where necessary.
•    Fills in and relieves for other production floor positions as assigned.
•    Ensures the correct materials are used in correspondence with the PQCT and that all new materials and molds undergo proper testing, including first article testing, and authorizing their release to production.
•    Learns to carry out process changes to the Initial Operating Condition (IOC) and ensuring quality is kept to company standards.
•    Works with Injection Molding Technicians, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to identify assembly and quality issues and establish root cause.
•    Actively supports Liqui-Box’s commitment to quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement, and Lean Principles.
•    Obtains knowledge (and schooling if necessary), in injection molding and tooling including but not limited to advances in technologies and innovations in tooling, machinery, and robotics.
•    Performs additional duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education:  Minimum High School Diploma/GED, vocational training in mechanical program preferred
Computer Skills:  Basic computer skills 
Other Requirements:  Ability to read and interpret product specifications, customer requirements, regulatory documentation. Ability to read and interpret standard measuring tapes, blueprints, and drawings.  Aptitude for measuring products to ensure accuracy based on specifications with use of calipers/micrometer and other measuring devices. Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills
Ability to work safely and effectively with minimal supervision
Certificates & Licenses: May be asked to obtain RJG Master Molder I
