Warehouse Associate (Inventory & Material Handling) - Materials Control Specialist II

Location: Duncan, South Carolina (Spartanburg County)
Department: Warehouse Operations / Inventory / Supply Chain
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Inventory Manager
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Pay Rate: $19
Schedule: Morning (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)

Position Overview

We are hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in ensuring accurate inventory, efficient material flow, and on-time support for production and shipping.

You will work hands-on with receiving, picking, stocking, and SAP-based inventory transactions, while contributing to a safe and organized warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and products
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping and production support
  • Perform inventory transactions in SAP or ERP systems (goods receipt, issue, transfers)
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counting and stock audits
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment safely
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of warehouse inventory
  • Support shipping and receiving operations, including loading/unloading trucks
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines
  • Participate in 5S, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional departments

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory control
  • Basic knowledge of inventory systems (SAP, ERP, or WMS)
  • Experience with material handling equipment (forklift certification preferred)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory handling
  • Good communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments
  • Familiarity with RF scanners, barcode systems, and warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Knowledge of inventory control processes, cycle counting, and stock replenishment
  • OSHA safety training or forklift operator certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk 6–8 miles per shift in a warehouse environment
  • Stand for extended periods during picking, packing, and stocking tasks
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and climbing
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced warehouse and distribution setting
  • Exposure to temperature changes and loading dock conditions
  • Noise levels from forklifts and industrial equipment
  • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses
