Job Description

Under the direction of production management, this position works to perform a variety of operational functions that constitute the production, inspection and distribution of products or services for our customers. 

Shift: Night (12-hour shift)

Pay Rate: $19.75
Shift Premium Amount: $1.75

 

  • Follow all applicable EHS, Quality and Food Safety procedures and protocols, and reports any incident to his/her supervisor. 
  • Complete all EHS, Quality and Food Safety applicable training. 
  • Support implementation of the Quality and Food Safety program and comply with the expectations if this role is included as part of the Food Safety or Internal Audit team. 
  • Operate a production bag machine.
  • Check customer specifications to ensure proper set up of machine.
  • Check data sheet and sales type to ensure proper set up.
  • Check packaging schedule to ensure proper packaging.
  • Order correct tubing through the forklift driver servicing the department.
  • Verify boxes through the packaging schedule and then orders proper type box through the mezzanine operator.
  • Visually check jaws to ensure they are in good condition and change them if necessary.
  • Complete run report correctly.
  • Obtain proper color ink from ink dispenser and reduce/increase viscosity when needed.
  • Obtain proper amount of sticky back from ink station.
  • Mount plates according to procedures.
  • When running a non-taped order, make out tray tickets.
  • Obtain correct size and type jaws from the jaw room.
  • When changing orders, ensure the mezzanine operator is aware of the type of boxes needed.
  • Obtain all snap-pack supplies needed for an order.
  • Verify roll card, against either the M.O.T. or an SPI, all rolls being placed at the machine.  A visual check of the roll must be done, as well, to ensure there are no defects on the rolls.
  • Set machine parameters according to standard operating procedures written for each specific job.
  • Check ink viscosity and fill in specified intervals to ensure print quality.
  • Download all order information into the DBQ system as well as maintain timely quality checks and reports.
  • Using proper set-up stamper, stamp all box labels needed.
  • Place stamped box labels onto proper cartons, ensuring proper adhesion to the boxes.
  • Place the proper pieces of boxes together, using filament tape, before pushing the completed carton out to the warehouse operator.
  • Using department guidelines, load all barrier/TBG rolls onto unwind stand.
  • Check and fill Oxidry hopper, when needed.
  • As a team member, follow all safety, quality, plant GMP and safe food handling rules

Qualifications

  • Must possess an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be well organized, and be a team player. 
  • Computer knowledge (SAP, Excel, Word)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
