Team Maintenance Lead (Manufacturing Maintenance Supervisor)

Location: Seneca, South Carolina – Manufacturing Facility / Industrial Plant

 

We are seeking an experienced Team Maintenance Lead to oversee maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading a skilled maintenance team in the repair, troubleshooting, installation, and preventive maintenance of industrial equipment, machinery, vehicles, and facility systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial maintenance, electromechanical troubleshooting, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, fabrication, and equipment reliability. This position plays a key role in minimizing downtime, improving operational efficiency, supporting production goals, and maintaining a safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Equipment Repair

  • Lead and support maintenance technicians in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair:
    • Electrical systems
    • Mechanical systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Electromechanical equipment
  • Maintain and repair forklifts, trucks, material handling equipment, pallet jacks, and hand/power tools.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, machinery assembly, and equipment installation based on blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering drawings.
  • Create, modify, and repair dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling according to engineering specifications.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Supervise daily maintenance activities and prioritize work orders to minimize production downtime.
  • Train, mentor, and support maintenance team members on equipment operation, troubleshooting, safety procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, vendors, and external service providers to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
  • Assist with inventory management, spare parts ordering, and maintenance documentation.

Facility & Building Maintenance

  • Perform general building maintenance, construction support, and facility repairs as needed.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and company safety policies.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with preventive maintenance schedules, quality standards, and workplace regulations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or related technical field.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in:
    • Industrial machinery
    • PLC-controlled equipment
    • Mechanical systems
    • Electrical systems
    • Pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Experience with:
    • Welding and fabrication
    • Preventive maintenance programs
    • Equipment installation and repair
    • Blueprint and schematic reading
    • Material handling equipment
    • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills including:
    • Microsoft Office
    • Email communication
    • Spreadsheets
    • Maintenance databases

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in industrial environments
  • Manual dexterity required for handling tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment and production machinery
  • Visual and hearing ability sufficient for equipment diagnostics and workplace safety
