Shift:    ROTATING
Shift Premium Amount:    $.75 FOR 2ND AND $1.00 3RD
Pay Rate: $30 - $33

 

Sealed Air is seeking a driven professional to fulfill our current opening in Reading, Pennsylvania.  This position is for rotating shifts.  The qualified candidate will report to the Production Manager.  The Team Performance Leader (TPL) is accountable for leading daily shift operations and assisting the Management team as needed to meet performance goals. Additionally, the TPL will coordinate production requirements by communicating production priorities established through Production Management, Production Control, and Shipping, as well as ensuring orders are processed with an emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity.  This role will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of the team and taking appropriate actions when an individual or team is not meeting goals in safety, productivity, and quality; and meeting continuous improvement objectives.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Quality: Proactively take actions to minimize scrap, spoilage, customer returns, and direct teams to ensure that quality indicators are tracked and up to date
•    Production:  Audit standards, update shift production targets, ensure service functions (For Example:  Warehouse, Core Cutting, Plate-making, Supply Depot, Maintenance) do not impact shift productivity, and potentially be available as back-up or extra manpower to prevent line stoppage.  Lead and direct teams to ensure proper line balancing and take appropriate action to meet business needs
•    Training:  The TPL is expected to identify training gaps and create and utilize SPL’s (Single Point Lessons) to close these gaps 
•    Administrative: Prepare shift manning schedules to ensure proper coverage and production is achieved.  Record attendance and document vacation and holidays taken.  Document absenteeism and elevate and report unfavorable trends.  Advise management of employee issues that may require their immediate attention to Safety, Quality, Production and Personnel issues
•    Prepare and start up production meetings for the shift.  Facilitate real-time root cause problem solving and ensure escalation protocols are followed (linking support functions)
•    Develop team maturity: Coach and counsel teams through accountability matrix, motivate team to achieve goals, and ensure effective team communication
•    Assist management in assessing individual and team performance and development
•    Support and champion business decisions
•    Direct individuals and/or teams regarding immediate actions when necessary to meet Safety, Quality, or Productivity measures
•    Perform other related duties as assigned
•    Function as a key communicator which includes both internal and external communications regarding critical issues impacting the department's performance

Qualifications

 

•    High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
•    Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
•    Minimum 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment
•    Experience leading a team and/or supervising employees, preferred
•    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be well organized, and be a team player
•    Computer knowledge (SAP, Excel, Word)
•    Demonstrated safety commitment 
•    Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks
•    Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management 
•    Assist and support Lean initiatives within the department  
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills.
•    Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
•    As a team member, follow all safety, quality, and plant GMP
