Job Description
Industrial Equipment Assembler / Electro-Mechanical Technician – Morning Shift
Location: Ayer, MA | Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM | Pay: $22–$23/hour
Sealed Air is seeking a skilled Industrial Equipment Assembler / Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our production team. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with hands-on experience in industrial equipment assembly, electrical wiring, and mechanical troubleshooting to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As a valued member of our team, you will assemble, wire, and validate complex machinery while adhering to strict safety standards and operational procedures. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined technicians who thrive on building high-quality products and solving real-world challenges in industrial manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and wire industrial machinery, capital equipment, and sub-assemblies according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and verbal instructions.
- Set up, adjust, start up, and validate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wire run lists, and mechanical drawings.
- Use hand tools, crimpers, ferrules, torque wrenches, and drills for assembly tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, SOPs, and Lean Six Sigma principles.
- Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate with all levels of personnel.
- Build high-quality equipment without compromising standards, even in the absence of printed instructions.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in wiring electrical boxes, electro-mechanical assembly, and industrial equipment assembly.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Proficiency in mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools and hardware (metric and standard).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and demonstrates a stable work history.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / Lean Six Sigma concepts preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs safely.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, twist, and work under large industrial equipment.
- Comfortable using creepers and other equipment for under-machine access.
Certifications / Skills That Enhance Your Application
- Industrial Electrical Certification (preferred)
- Electro-Mechanical Technician Certification (preferred)
- OSHA Safety Certification
- Experience in capital equipment assembly, PLC wiring, and control panel assembly
