Job Description

Shift: 12-hour night shift
Schedule: 6 PM to 6 AM; 2/2/3 rotating schedule
Pay: $29.00 + per hour (commensurate with experience)
Shift Differential: $2.00


This position is responsible for providing maintenance support to a foam extrusion operation. The candidate must have a strong background in controls (PLC) and electrical troubleshooting, mechanical processes, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They must have a functional understanding of bulk material transport equipment, including loaders, hoppers, and vacuum systems. The candidate should possess basic computer skills, have a good work ethic, and be safety-minded with the ability to work in a group environment or independently. A basic understanding of Continuous Improvement is a plus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Allen-Bradley PLC systems, HMI interfaces, and industrial control systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on extrusion equipment, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic components
  • Maintain and repair bulk material handling systems including hoppers, loaders, and vacuum transport equipment
  • Calibrate sensors, instruments, and control devices to ensure precise manufacturing specifications
  • Install, modify, and upgrade manufacturing equipment according to engineering specifications
  • Rebuild mechanical components and perform precision adjustments
  • Document maintenance activities in CMMS software and SAP
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and TPM programs
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to all safety protocols

 

Qualifications

  • 2 - 5 years of Industrial Maintenance or Maintenance Technician experience
  • 2-year technical degree required, electrical preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required
  • Experience working with plastics extrusion process or similar equipment preferred
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) experience preferred
  • Experience using a computer (SAP, MS Office, CMMS experience desired)
  • Ability to drive mobile equipment preferred (Scissor lifts, forklifts, etc)
  • Availability for overtime, other shifts for training, and covering for peers on occasion
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and non-verbal) skills
  • Team-oriented and able to work well with others
  • Able to stand for the entire shift and traverse the warehouse
     

Job Requirements

  • Minimize equipment downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Work frequently with maintenance shop equipment (lathe, drill press, etc).
  • Work with equipment and troubleshoot 
  • Make safety improvements
  • Use of MS Office
  • Work a 12-hour shift and overtime as needed

 

Will potentially need to train on the day shift once hired.
