Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Maintenance Technician II / Industrial Mechanic)
Location: Modena, PA
Shift: Morning Shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $34.68 per hour
Join Our Maintenance Team
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support the reliability, performance, and safety of our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production equipment, facility systems, and automated machinery. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, preventive maintenance programs, and equipment troubleshooting within a manufacturing or production environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), troubleshooting, repair, and installation of industrial production equipment and facility systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment systems.
- Install, inspect, align, disassemble, and reassemble bearings, roll bearings, shafts, couplings, pumps, and related mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot industrial instrumentation, including pressure, level, proximity, distance, and process control devices.
- Perform precision alignment, measurement, and equipment calibration using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other precision tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Assist with electrical troubleshooting of motors, drives, controls, sensors, and production equipment.
- Support maintenance activities involving PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), motor controls, and industrial automation systems.
- Safely perform rigging, lifting, equipment relocation, and machinery installation activities.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Follow OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and all workplace safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in emergency repairs, shutdowns, overtime assignments, and special maintenance projects as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience maintaining production machinery, industrial equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, sensors, switches, and controls.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and mechanical power transmission.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifting devices, and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PLCs, industrial controls, automation systems, and VFDs.
- Welding, fabrication, or metalworking experience.
- Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Experience performing precision shaft alignment, vibration analysis, and predictive maintenance.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Six Sigma, or reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Experience in food manufacturing, packaging, paper manufacturing, chemical processing, heavy industrial, or related production environments.
Preferred Certifications
Candidates with any of the following certifications are encouraged to apply:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Industrial Maintenance Certification
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT)
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
- Welding Certifications (AWS preferred)
- Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship Training
- PLC Training or Industrial Automation Certifications
- Forklift, Rigging, or Lift Equipment Certifications
